Lakka

Vanilton Lakka é Doutor em Artes Cênicas pelo PPGAC – UFBA, Mestre em Artes pelo PPGArtes – UFU e Bacharel em Ciências Sociais pela UFU. É atualmente coordenador do curso de bacharelado em Dança da UFU (Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, 2020-2024) e um dos diretores da Associação Nacional de Pesquisadores em Dança – ANDA, (2019-2023) e da Associação dos Profissionais da Dança de Uberlândia – APDU, (2022-2024).

Criador-intérprete premiado em 2005 pela Associação Paulista de Críticos de Artes – APCA. Atua com produção cultural, criação, pesquisa, interpretação e docência em dança.

Sua formação é marcada pela vivência no universo da Dança de Rua e da Dança Contemporânea. Suas criações coreográficas destacam questões referentes ao uso de diferentes técnicas corporais e sempre configurações híbridas, como técnicas de danças vinculadas ao Hip Hop, técnicas corporais cotidianas e outras provindas do universo da Dança Contemporânea, como o  Release Technique e a Improvisação de Contato. Interessa-se por compor em diferentes suportes como, o corpo, a cena, o vídeo, a internet e em materiais gráficos. Além da exploração da relação arte-cidade no ambiente urbano com foco na criação e na formação. 

Em sua pesquisa mais recente, se dedicou em investigar proposições coreográficas caracterizadas por serem composições coletivas para coletivos não estáveis.

Vanilton Lakka holds a PhD in Performing Arts from PPGAC – UFBA, a Master of Arts from PPGArtes – UFU and a Bachelor of Social Sciences from UFU. She is currently coordinator of the BA in Dance course at UFU (Federal University of Uberlândia, 2020-2024) and one of the directors of the National Association of Dance Researchers – ANDA, (2019-2023) and of the Association of Dance Professionals of Uberlândia – APDU, (2022-2024).

Creator-performer awarded in 2005 by the São Paulo Association of Art Critics – APCA. He works with cultural production, creation, research, interpretation and teaching in dance. He presented his choreographic works and taught classes in several Brazilian cities and in 17 countries in South America, Central America, Europe and Africa, such as Cuba, France, Argentina, Venezuela, Cape Verde, Sweden, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, among others.

His training is marked by his experience in the universe of Street Dance and Contemporary Dance. His choreographic creations highlight issues related to the use of different body techniques, always in hybrid articulations, such as dance techniques linked to Hip Hop, everyday body techniques and others from the Contemporary Dance universe, such as the Release Technique and Contact Improvisation. He is interested in composing in different supports such as the body, the scene, video, the internet and graphic materials. In addition to exploring the art-city relationship in the urban environment with a focus on creation and training.

In his most recent research, he is sincerely interested in investigating choreographic propositions identified as being collective compositions for unstable collectives.
